What is a Medical Spa?
A medical spa is a MedSpa facility supervised by a physician and offers medical grade cosmetic services in a spa like setting. Persona Medical Spa operates under the supervision of Stanley C Jones, M.D., a licensed Medical Doctor. We also have on location Tara McDonald, Nurse Practitioner, who initiates a treatment plan of care for all Medical Aesthetic Clients. Persona Medical Spa patients have the option of receiving medical services like Botox, Dermal Fillers, Laser Hair Removal, Coolsculpting, Ultherapy and other medical-grade skin therapies. Our medical professionals are licensed educated and trained to ensure the highest level of care for each and every patient. Our Medical Aesthetic as well as Spa Staff includes Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurses, Licensed Medical Aestheticians, Licensed Aestheticians, Licensed Massage Therapists and Licensed Acupuncturists.

We are located on W Alabama Street in the Upper Kirby and River Oaks Districts between Shepherd Drive and Kirby Ave. Please see map on the Contact Page.
Are your phones answered after hours?
Yes. We have an after hour answering service for coverage 24 hours a day. For non-urgent issues, you will receive a call back within 24 hours of your call from our on-call Medical Provider.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
Do to the individualized nature of the services that we offer, our Medical & Spa Providers prepare treatment rooms and services in advanced for each client. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. A fee of $150 will be charged for appointments not cancelled within this time frame.
Is there a long wait time when I arrive?
Our appointments are scheduled very efficiently and allow ample time for clients to reveive a thorough and complete treatment as well as the opportunity to schedule a service as soon as possible. Our providers maintain a punctual appointment schedule and while unexpected delays can occur, they are rare. Your wait time should be minimal.
If I am late to my appointment will I be seen?
If you will be late for your appointment, it is best to call and check with our Guest Relations Team to see if that will impact the next patient’s appointment time. While we do everything we can to accommodate our clients, it may impact the next appointment to follow, at which point we will look to accommodate you with another available provider. It is possible, however that we will need re-schedule your appointment for another time.
Can my child accompany me?
Unfortunately because we are a Medical Spa, we do not have available staff to care for unsupervised children under the age of 12 in the lobby. Children are not permitted in treatment rooms since we do work with lasers, needles and etc. along with other technologies requiring safety precautions.
If I am a new client, what can I expect when I come in for my first appointment?
As a new patient, you will be given a medical history form in addition to policies and consent forms to complete. We will make a photocopy of your driver’s license required to verify identity related to credit card use. The treatment you are to receive will be explained to you in a consultation which includes a discussion of your conditions and possible treatment options. Together we will customize a treatment plan that will specifically meet your needs and goals. The Texas Medical Board requires all patients to have a yearly assessment prior to reveiving medical grade treatments. Tara McDonald, APRN-MS,NP-C will be performing the patient assessment which will include a medical evaluation, current medications you are taking and any contraindications to treatments.
What is Botox?
Botox is a purified protein derived from Botulin Toxin A. Botox works by preventing the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscle therefor relaxing repetitive movements that create facial lines.
Is Botox Safe?

What is Dermal Filler?
Dermal Fillers camouflage wrinkles and folds by adding volume directly into the wrinkle or the area of volume deficiency. Botox and Dermal Fillers are often used together to achieve the desired results.
How many syringes of filler will I need?
Depending on the area being injected, we recommend one syringe per decade. For example: 30 years old would need approximately 3 syringes (with the exception of lips). This could vary from patient to patient depending on the level of correction the patient wishes to achieve.
How long will my injections last?
